Just Blaze At Baseline Studios

LTD Presents Conversations: Just Blaze (Episode #1, Part 2) "We REALLY made an impact with this place..." from LTD Magazine on Vimeo.

If you don't know by now, I grew up a huge Jay-Z fan. With the exception of Kanye West, Just Blaze was quite possibly my favorite producer growing up. I listen to a lot of Jay but sometimes I just listen to the countless instrumentals Just has made for Mr. Carter. Anyways, in this video he talks about Baseline Studios and branching into other areas of business (besides music) as his success as a producer continued to grow. It's introspective and inspiring as always. A must watch for anyone hoping to get into the entertainment industry as a long term career.

Props to @CallMeKwabs and Fresh87 for the video

Be Thankful

Back for my second post in two days, I'm extra focused on being consistent while my workload isn't that bad. Anyways, just wanted to emphasize being positive and thankful for what you have. Sometimes I feel we allow the most minute things to upset us and steal our joy. The old saying is true: it could always be worse and while you may not be where you want to right now you have the power to change that with your mindset, thoughts, and actions. So today, instead of thinking of what you don't have be grateful for what you do have. Focus on the positive and minimize the negative; you'll be surprised how much differently you feel throughout the day. Until next time, peace, love, and keep winning.

Once again, to anyone who actually reads this blog I apologize. Update & Recap

Aight. I been real busy lately so I haven't updated the blog in a minute but a lot has happened since the last time. I did my first college show at Amherst College in Massachusetts. I have a few friends that go there and the show went real well. It's a real small school so it was a real intimate setting. I was only planning to do 2-3 songs but the crowd was responding to the music so I ended up doing like 11 or 12 songs. They showed me a lot of love so shout out to everybody that came out and showed support. It meant a lot and I just want to thank yall again. My boy Andre had posters all over the campus (big ups to him he's been really holding me down). I also got to catch up with one of my partners Kwabs who's made a few records and is apart of our team we got. We did a few rough recordings in Garage Band just to get some of the stuff recorded but I should be going to the studio soon so stay tuned. Also got to go to the Jay-Z concert in Providence, RI with Dre, Malcolm, and my other boy from Taylor and his lil bro and sis. Didn't get to see either one of the homies J. Cole or Omen but Lord willing It'll happen eventually. I was definitely a "fan" in the show but I was also studying him; it was educating, entertaining, and inspiring at the same time. Anyways, I'm back home and I'm hungry as ever. I'm current writing and producing so be looking for some new stuff from me soon. Thanks for the support. Peace, love, and stay tuned.

P.S. Going to the Jay Electroinca concert tonight. I'll update more routinely now. And I'm out.

Time Waits For No One

Just wanted to throw this up. It's a tryptic for my digital communications class but I felt the underlying meaning was important. The message is time waits for no one. I know people say it all the time. Routinely I hear someone say "tomorrow is promised to no one." And they're right but then I think to myself "today isn't promised either!" I'm thinking about tomorrow but I gotta get through today first. Anyways I just wanted to emphasize using time wisely. We should all spend out time how we spend our money (At least those of us who spend our money wisely because some we all know somebody who spends money they don't have. If you don't it might be you. Haha). That way we make the best use of it. Just a reminder to myself (as well as anyone reading this) to stay focused on your goals and don't get sidetracked because time is wasting.

Welcome

If you're here for the first time (as I am) welcome to my newly created blog. I created this as a project for my digital communications class but I'll really use it for my music and to express my thoughts and opinions about things. If you don't know me, I'm a 20 year old college student with a dream to be the greatest artist ever. I know it's cliche but I'm willing to put in the work necessary to make my dream a reality. I'm from New Orleans but I have a east coast flow. I grew up idolizing Jay-Z and Kanye when he first came on the scene. While music is a form of entertainment, I also hope to convey a positive message that provides inspiration through my personal experiences as well as those that surround me. But enough of all that; I don't want to spill my entire life story on the first post. Haha Anyways, thanks for checking out my blogged and stay tuned folks. Peace.
